Washoe Fire now in mop-up

WASHOE COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

The Washoe Fire is 100 percent contained at 3,177 acres as of 6 a.m. today. All evacuations were lifted as of 8 a.m. this morning. The Sierra Front Incident Management Team was to transition the Washoe Fire over to Reno Fire Department at 3 p.m. today.

Today, firefighters focused on mopping up around structures and continuing to patrol the area.

As a reminder, drivers having to travel on highway 395 are asked to use extra caution as crews and apparatus are still actively working.
