SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada has been recognized by its national headquarters and recently received a Summit award. The highest honor a local chapter can receive, the Summit awards are part of a recognition program by Junior Achievement Worldwide who highlights local chapters that have reached outstanding success in financial health, program quality, management effectiveness, and program growth.

“Summit award winners represent the best Junior Achievement has to offer,” said Sean Rush, CEO of Junior Achievement Worldwide. “They set the standard by which our organization is measured and their commitment and dedication to young people is reflected in this honor.”

With hundreds of chapters across the globe, Junior Achievement has provided education and training programs to K-12 students on the topics of business, economics and free enterprise. Just last year, the local organization brought programming to 182 classrooms and 48 schools in northern Nevada. Additionally, 4,378 students were taught JA lessons by 160 community volunteers, up 43.8 percent from the year prior.

“We are thrilled to receive the Summit award by our national headquarters,” said Bill Heitman, president of Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada. “The entire staff and Board of Directors have worked hard to ensure the continued success of our local chapter and we look forward to impacting even more students in northern Nevada.”
