Date:

The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) will kick off its 2012 program series with Google Travel’s marketing specialist, Shaun Aukland. The program, which takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Atlantis Casino Resort, will discuss brand development and destination marketing featuring examples from some of the top names in the industry. The luncheon is open to all area professionals and registration is available online at www.prsareno.org.

“We are excited to begin 2012 with a discussion on brand development led by a marketing expert from one of the top brands in the world,” said Frankie Vigil, president of the board for the PRSA Sierra Nevada Chapter. “Google has not only developed their own brand over the last ten years but has become a leader in helping others market to an international audience.”

Aukland joined Google in 2010 and has since been managing the accounts and providing consultation for the major destination marketing organizations in the United States and Caribbean. He plays a pivotal role in developing solutions that are tailored to individual brands and organizations and spearheads some of the industry’s most creative online solutions to driving tourism.

In his role working one-on-one with destination marketers, Aukland ensures they understand the changing online landscape works with them to develop integrated, measurable marketing strategies for the digital space. His expertise in managing and optimizing campaigns ranges from search engine marketing, to display networks, to video, social and Google TV ads.

The luncheon will take place on Wed., January 25, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa. Cost for non-members is $30. Registration for this event is limited. To reserve a space, please visit www.prsareno.org.
