Statement is attributed to: Rod Davis, Senior Vice President, Operations, Nevada Service Area

Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) announced today it has ended exclusive negotiations with Community Health Systems Professional Services Corporation for the sale of Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev. The two organizations were unable to reach mutually agreeable terms and have decided to end negotiations at this time. Saint Mary’s has provided all normal patient care services during these negotiations and will continue to do so.

CHW, with support from Saint Mary’s sponsoring congregation, the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, is continuing to explore options that will help preserve the availability of high-quality care, as well as consumer and physician choice in hospitals, in northern Nevada.
