harryreid1-150x150-3167192-2809451WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Harry Reid today announced a $4,772,500 grant to replace buses in Washoe County that are beyond their useful lives with diesel-electric hybrid buses.

The Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission will receive the grant, which comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s State of Good Repair Program.

“This grant will provide fuel-efficient buses that will support public transportation in Washoe County for years to come,” said Reid. “Rebuilding Nevada’s infrastructure is vital to our state’s economic recovery, and this investment in green transportation supports reduced air pollution long-term.”
