SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Three different stunt show teams are set to perform during Street Vibrations Fall Rally Sept. 21-25 – each team skilled in a specific array of motorcycle trick riding crowds in both Reno and Sparks will appreciate.

Sparks Stunt Teams

LivFast, a Reno based freestyle motorcycle aerial stunt team that has become a favorite with Street Vibrations enthusiasts will perform in Sparks Thurs., Sept. 22 and Sat., Sept 24.

JBX Freestyle Motorcycle Stunt Team based out of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin will perform on-the-ground motorcycle trick riding at the Sparks venue Thurs., Sept 22, Fri., Sept. 23 and Sat., Sept.24.

Both teams are scheduled for multiple shows on each performance day.

Reno Stunt Team

John Stotts Globe of Death from Las Vegas will perform at break-neck speed inside a steel ball Thurs., Sept. 22 through Sun. Sept. 25 in downtown Reno with several shows daily.

LivFast Team Details

All LivFast Freestyle Motocross shows are designed to thrill spectators and they don’t disappoint.

Team members use mathematical calculations to determine the length and the height of their jumps at each location.  Typically the riders and their motorcycles fly 60 feet through the air, 40 feet off the ground and land on what appears to be a postage stamp.  Each specific site venue determines jump length.

During jumps, team members hang onto motorcycle handlebars, seats and frames. They frequently perform mid-air flips.

“Usually audiences think we’ve lost our minds!” says Tim O’Brien, the Reno native who founded LivFast in 1999.

Crowd reactions to LivFast team aerial shows vary from slack-jawed amazement to head-shaking disbelief.

“Most often they just think we’re crazy,” O’Brien explains.

O’Brien said he started riding motorcycles as soon as his feet “could touch the ground.”

“I knew right away that motorcycles and motocross was my calling,” he adds.

His parents initially didn’t want him to ride motorcycles. That, of course, didn’t stop O’Brien.  Before he was a teenager he took a bicycle frame and attached a lawn mower motor to it.

“I would ride it every day,” he recalls.

At 14, O’Brien officially started riding motorcycles.  He talked his parents into letting him race motorcycles and he immediately began winning races. Soon he won major competitions and was featured in films and videos.

At age 17 he turned professional, then in 1999 O’Brien founded LivFast Productions.  He has since built LivFast into the largest motocross company in the world.

JBX Freestyle Motorcycle Stunt Team

Known for their “sick tricks” this impressive sport bike stunt team will have jaws-dropping in the crowd. JBX will perform Thurs., Sept. 22 through Sat., Sept. 24 at the Sparks Victorian Square site.

John Stotts Globe of Death

This Las Vegas based stunt team uses modified Yamaha RT 100 bikes.  Those bikes have custom wheels, tires, beefed up suspension, custom exhaust and custom Carbon Fiber Unibodies.

During a Globe of Death performance motorcycles seem to travel so fast inside the steel ball, they become a blur.

“You’re spinning and you have to keep an eye out for the other riders inside the ball,” Stotts explains.  “You have to balance, control your speed and watch your timing.  Stopping is the fun part!  You have to stop from full speed without hitting other riders.”

Stotts has been riding freestyle motorcycles for 17 years.  His shows are choreographed routines that require excellent peripheral vision.  They’re particularly fun to watch.
