SUBMITTED ANNOUNCEMENT

EDAWN CEO Search: We need your input!
Community Input Meetings: Thursday, June 23 & Wednesday, June 29

EDAWN is beginning the process of an executive search for its next president and CEO. This is not just an EDAWN search, but a region-wide search to find EDAWN’s next leader and we need your input! The search team held its first meeting. The team includes members from many of our region’s primary employers, private industry, and community and educational organizations. Additionally, the group is convening meetings with a broader base of community and economic development stakeholders to gain input on the ideal candidate for the position. We hope as an active member of our business community you might join us as part of the search process.

As EDAWN board member/secretary, I am overseeing the day-to-day Search Team activities as Chair, and Stephanie Kruse, vice chair of the EDAWN board is serving as Vice Chair of our Search Team. Additional Search Team members are: Stephanie Tyler, ATT and EDAWN’s Economic Development Council; Mary Simmons, NV Energy and the Reno Sparks Chamber; Tom Fitzgerald, NevadaWorks and EDAWN’s Economic Development Partner’s Coalition; Chuck Davies, NNDA; Larry Rodriguez, Wells Fargo and NNDA; and Greg Mosier, UNR and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

Please join us at one of the two upcoming meetings to provide your input to the EDAWN executive search process and key economic development initiatives impacting our region. Please forward this to a colleague or someone who would be interested in attending one of the community outreach meetings.

The economic development world in Nevada is undergoing vast changes, including new state legislation and funding structures, exciting discussions with the Chambers of consolidation initiatives, and discussions about regionalization with many of our economic development partners. Given this new environment, please come to the meeting prepared to discuss your opinions on at LEAST these two questions:

  • Given all of the changes and potential changes impacting economic development in northern Nevada, what do you think the evolving EDAWN should look i.e. what should our priorities be for the next 12 to 24 months?
  • What would the ideal candidate look like to lead the organization that EDAWN will be or become during that timeframe? – i.e. what are his/her ideal attributes, experiences, prior successes?

Please RSVP to Meghan Wagonseller at [email protected].

If you’re not able to attend, please submit your input online at: www.edawn.org/executive-search.
