“America’s Educator” and Founder of the Ron Clark Academy Headlines WIN 2011 Lecture Series Dinner

Ron Clark, founder of the Ron Clark Academy, “America’s Educator,” Disney’s Teacher of the Year, and bestselling author, will be the keynote speaker during the 25th Annual WIN Lecture Series Dinner, Friday, May 20, 2011. Clark is well-known for his success in education and his classes have been honored at the White House on three separate occasions. The WIN Lecture Series Dinner is one of the region’s foremost business networking events and features the presentation of scholarships to five local high school seniors. Q&D Construction is the presenting sponsor for the thirteenth consecutive year.

“This is a very appropriate time in our state to be bringing a nationally recognized educator to talk about what has been successful in his classrooms,” said B.J. North, 2011 WIN president.

Clark is the founder and mathematics teacher at the Ron Clark Academy, a school that serves low-income kids in Atlanta, Ga. Clark’s teaching methods have been praised for their ability to raise test scores by using unique methods that incorporate creativity, innovation and 55 classroom rules. His book, The Essential 55, has sold more than one million copies and has been published in 25 different countries.  Clark has been featured on The Today Show, CNN, and Oprah, where Winfrey named him as her first “Phenomenal Man.” Clark’s teaching experiences are also the subject of the film, The Ron Clark Story, starring Matthew Perry.

Winner’s Circle tables are available for $2,500 and include reserved seating for eight, a hosted cocktail reception with Ron Clark, program and table recognition.              

Preferential Seating tables are available for $1,200 and include reserved seating for eight, program and table recognition.

Individual dinner tickets in open seating are available for $150 each.
