Sandoval appoints Peter Bernhard to Gaming Commission

sandovallogo-300x91-6797318-4845113CARSON CITY–Gov. Brian Sandoval yesterday announced he has reappointed Peter Bernhard as chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission.

“At a time when the gaming industry faces unprecedented modernization efforts and we are working to maintain Nevada’s position as the Gold Standard of gaming regulation, Pete has the experience and day-to-day knowledge to help Nevada continue to move forward,” Sandoval said. “I have tremendous respect for his work, and I look forward to his continued leadership in our state’s most important industry.”

Previously the chairman of the state Ethics Commission, Bernhard was named Gaming Commission chairman to fill the unexpired term of then-Chairman Brian Sandoval. Bernhard was reappointed to a full four-year term in 2003 and again in 2007.

Currently of counsel at Kaempfer Crowell, Bernhard regularly lectures in continuing education and training programs for the State Bar of Nevada, the University of Nevada Las Vegas and the Executive Development Program at the University of Nevada Reno.
