Cirque de la Symphonie performs With Reno Chamber Orchestra

Cirque de la Symphonie with the Reno Chamber Orchestra, a combination of cirque performances and live orchestral music, will take place on Thursday, July 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Sierra Resort’s Grand Theatre. Tickets range from $50 to $20, and can be purchased through the Grand Sierra box office at 1-800-648-3568 or at its website, GrandSierraResort.com.

A limited number of special $100 VIP ticket packages, including priority seating and a backstage reception with the Cirque artists and RCO musicians, are also available through the Reno Chamber Orchestra office, (775) 348-9413.

The Cirque de la Symphonie artists include some of the world’s most famous cirque performers, from aerialists, acrobats and contortionists to dancers and jugglers. Their performances will be choreographed to favorite classical masterpieces performed by the Reno Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maestro Theodore Kuchar, and presented on the world’s largest indoor stage.

Cirque de la Symphonie with the Reno Chamber Orchestra during the month of July is part of the 15th annual Artown festival, July 2010. The month-long summer arts festival features more than 400 events produced by more than 100 cultural organizations and businesses in locations citywide, with major funding provided by the City of Reno.

About The Reno Chamber Orchestra
Founded in 1974, the Reno Chamber Orchestra presents concerts to audiences in northern Nevada and beyond. Over the course of its 36 years, some of the world’s most famous performers have appeared with the RCO, including Leonard Nimoy, Itzhak Perlman, Edgar Meyer, James Buswell, and Pepe and Angel Romero. About Theodore Kuchar
Theodore Kuchar has served for seven seasons as Music Director and Conductor of the Reno Chamber Orchestra, and for six as Artistic Director of the RCO’s Nevada Chamber Music Festival. One of the most prolifically recorded conductors of the past decade, Kuchar appears on over 100 compact discs for the Naxos, Brilliant Classics, Ondine and Marco Polo labels. Along with his positions in Reno, he currently serves as Music Director of the Janacek Philharmonic (of Ostrava, Czech Republic) and the Fresno Philharmonic, Conductor Emeritus of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Ukraine, and Resident Conductor at the Kent/Blossom Music Festival (the summer educational institution of the Cleveland Orchestra).
