Renown Health is joining with Scheels All Sports Superstore to educate the community about the surgical options available with the da Vinci Surgical System. Members of the community are invited to learn more about the system from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at Scheels at Legends at Sparks Marina.
The da Vinci system is the latest in physician-guided robotic surgery, focusing on general, prostate, gynecological and heart procedures. Attendees will have the opportunity to operate the robot and enter to win raffle prizes and giveaways.
Patient benefits experienced with da Vinci procedures may include a shorter hospital stay, less pain, less risk of infection, less blood loss, less scarring, faster recovery and a quicker return to normal daily activities.
In addition to da Vinci Surgery and in recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Renown Health will also offer prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screenings at a reduced rate. Individuals attending the event may receive a PSA test for only $10. Fasting is not required for the screening, and results will be mailed to participants within two weeks.
