Artown is currently preparing for its 15th annual festival in July 2010 and has issued a request for qualifications for the festival poster. Each year Artown selects a regional artist to create the art to be used on the festival poster, Little Book and other marketing materials.
This project is open to all regional illustrators, photographers or other visual artists. “Regional” includes the Lake Tahoe area and the following Nevada counties: Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, Storey, Churchill, Pershing, Washoe, Humboldt, Lander, Eureka, Elko and White Pine.
Artists are required to submit a disc of six images, with an emphasis on poster art, and a bio or resume no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel consisting of Reno arts leaders, community supporters, last year’s artist and the Artown Marketing Committee.
