library-logoCome to the library for an important seminar on how to protect yourself and your loved ones from being scammed. The Nevada Fight Fraud Taskforce is pleased to present “Don’t Be a Victim! Learn to Protect Yourself from Fraud,” a free hour-long seminar covering the top tips to prevent fraud, the five “S’s” to keep from becoming a victim, what to do if you’ve been scammed and more.

The seminar will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. at the Sierra View Library, 4001 S. Virginia St.

The statewide task force includes members from local law enforcement agencies, the IRS, the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, the Division of Mortgage Lending, the Better Business Bureau, the FTC, the Treasury Department, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Justice, U.S. Postal Service and experts from the private sector among others.

The Fight Fraud Taskforce also ensures that the latest fraud information is available on the Fight Fraud Web site. It is a comprehensive, one-of-a-kind site that includes extensive tips on how to prevent fraud and provides downloadable complaint forms to help respond effectively if someone becomes a victim. Check the site regularly for the latest fraud alerts and scams to avoid.
